National Prayer Coordinator

Tesfaye Assefa Desta serves as the National Prayer Coordinator for the ministry and has been with the organization for almost 19 years. He is married and has seven children. Tesfaye's educational background includes a theology degree and an advanced diploma in automotive, along with short-term training in mission and leadership.

His main responsibilities involve coordinating and training the prayer movement at the national level and throughout all ten regions. A notable achievement in Tesfaye's career is being the first person to establish campus ministry as a full-time missionary at Addis Ababa University in 1999 GC. He has also played a crucial role in restoring and boosting the prayer ministry with the support of the leadership team.

What Tesfaye enjoys most about working at the ministry is team working, mobilization, fellowship, and support raising. Outside of work, he enjoys reading and listening to the news. A memorable project for Tesfaye was his involvement in the Philipos Gospel Campaign. Tesfaye is motivated by fruitfulness in his role and handles challenges and setbacks with patience and courage.

He aspires to see well-established prayer teams in all regional offices and advises aspiring professionals in his field that Bible-based prayer is the bedrock for prayer restoration. In addition to his primary role, Tesfaye also takes on counseling for the younger generation. He prioritizes work-life balance by adhering to the principle of putting what the word of God prioritizes first that is to seek first righteousness and the kingdom of God, trusting that everything else will be added unto him.
