STUDENT-LED MOVEMENT(SLM)
Student-led movement has a vision of launching movements in all campuses while developing and equipping leaders for every movement and reaching every nation. The movement works on reaching students with the Gospel of Christ and making them disciples to win their campuses and the world for Christ. Currently, the movement is launched in 475 universities and high school campuses. This is done through a training and mobilization of Christian students to spread the Gospel initially in their campus and following that to all nations for short term missions.
In this year, 21,793 students have been trained with PCS (Prayer, Care and Share) and engaged to apply OCS (On Campus Saturation) strategy. Through Prayer, Care and Share evangelistic tool strategy, 67,574 students were reached and 13,113 of them received Christ as their personal savior and 4,985 of them are being followed up. In January 2018, about 1,002 students were participated on inter-semester break mission in 19 different locations. In this mission, 41,466 people heard the Good News while 2,990 received Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. In totality of this academic year, 1725 students have passed through our campus discipleship program.
In addition, 175 students and professionals have participated in a mission conference called ‘100% Sent’, which was held in Addis Ababa in November 2017. The conference led 14 students to decide on becoming full time missionary staffs through GCME, where 40 as associate staffs and 84 as volunteer staffs.
In partnership with Institute Life Success, Switzerland, the Great Commission Ministry Ethiopia provided ‘Study with Success’ training for 5234 high school and university students in 49 different centers. The training helps students to be effective in their studies by providing personally adaptable self-management techniques that helps them to use their full learning capacity.
