Mekonnen Mengistu Habtwold, a dedicated leader with 25 years of service in the ministry, currently holds the position of Local Mission Team Leader. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Haramaya University and a Master of Divinity from Ethiopia Full Gospel Theological Seminary, Mekonnen specializes in training missionaries, coaching missionaries, providing contextualization training for Muslim background believers, and mobilizing churches for mission endeavors.
Noteworthy among his achievements is his oversight of 160 local missionaries, who annually establish over 100 new churches and share the Gospel with more than 200,000 individuals. He derives profound joy from witnessing people, especially Muslims, coming to Jesus and witnessing the birth of new churches. Outside of work, he prioritizes his family's spiritual and physical well-being.
Mekonnen aspires to see the Ethiopian church mobilized for global missions. In facing challenges, he turns to prayer and collaborative problem-solving. He welcomes colleagues or clients to reach out to him through various communication channels for collaboration or assistance.
