My name is Biniyam Kareso Kia. I am currently a full-time missionary staff at Cru (in Ethiopia). I am married to my wife, Eadom Mersha, a medical doctor also serving in mission and we have one son, Daniel.
More than any other time today, there is a call to equip and cultivate godly and missional leaders in the broad marketplace. Leaders in the marketplace are strategically positioned to make the most of their professional acquisition for Kingdom impact. As the vast majority of Christians spend most of the time of their week in the marketplace, it is crucial to harness this large pool to the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
In the face of the grave leadership crisis we're enduring, it takes well-developed and transformed leaders from different sphers of influence to impact communities and societies. It takes leaders who are equipped in character and competence, in skill and knowledge, in integrity and aptitude, to transform nations holistically.
My MINISTRY IN LEADER IMPACT
I currently engage in this process of developing leaders primarily in the marketplace through mobilizing, training, and deploying leaders for every sphere of influence. In the Leader Impact department where I serve, I am dedicated to work alongside my team in raising up integral, committed, excellent, and ethical Christian leaders who use their God-given potential and position to declare and display Christ to the fullest. To this end, we empower leaders in their personal, professional, and spiritual growth as they are capped with Kingdom insight and inspiration to cause transformation in their marketplaces.
WHO I AM
I have been serving with Cru (Ethiopia) as a full-time missionary staff for the last nine years. My primary ministerial engagement was with the student ministry in Hawassa, where I served coordinating mission outreaches and mobilizing students for missions. I have helped mobilize and train thousands of high school and campus students for short-term missions, break missions, and youth conferences regionally. After relocating to the national office, I also served as the logistics and resource mobilization team leader, and later on worked among college students in various discipleship programs and mission projects. Following my deepseated passion for developing leaders across professional spheres, I am currently serving in Leader Impact, which has bestowed me with the platform to engage, equip, and empower marketplace leaders through diverse arrays of resources and tools. I have leveraged these tools in my ministry in order to ignite these leaders on the road of personal transformation and societal impact. Moreover, as the market place is a key mission field to reach others with the gospel message, Christian leaders are presented with strategic tools on how to fulfill the Great Commission in their workplaces through evangelizing and discipling others.
It has been an absolute privilege and pleasure to disciple market place missional leaders who multiply themselves and influence their respective spheres with godly impact.
MY MINISTRY TEAM
As many mission-based organizations, Cru does not operate with central funds that cover staff expenses and personal ministry costs. Our ministry is made possible through the faithful and continued financial support of partners who are passionate about engaging in God's mission through their givings.
As someone serving full-time, this financial endowment will go to sustaining my daily needs as well as my minisry efforts. Until now, God has been faithful to provide my needs time and again through generous and committed partners in the Great Commission.
It is a joy and a calling to invite partners, who are not just donors, but also co-laborers in the harvest; not just supporters but dedicated workers who share the same burden for missions through their blessed hearts that give. Our ministry will not come to fruition without these partners who run the race alongside us in their bold, prayerful, and faithful support. I would be honored to have you join this ministry and team of partners through your generous financial support.
