Alemneh Belachew Teklemariam, the Leader Strategies National Director within the ministry, brings extensive experience and expertise to his role. Married to Roza since September 2, 2012, with four children—Ement, Joy, Haniel, and Eyoel—Alemneh’s commitment to his family is as strong as his dedication to the ministry, where he has served as a full-time missionary staff member since 2009. Both he and his wife grew up in Coptic Orthodox Christian families and found Christ as their Lord and Savior during their late high school years. Educationally, Alemneh holds a Bachelor of Education degree (majoring in Geography). After teaching as a high school teacher for one year, he left his teaching career when he sensed God calling him into full-time ministry with Great Commission Ministry Ethiopia. He also earned an MA in Transformational Leadership from GITL and is currently pursuing his MA in Mission and Theology from ILU-E to further grow his theological qualifications, develop curriculums, and facilitate courses on hermeneutics, exegesis, and homiletics.
His main contributions within the ministry encompass pastoral ministry, specifically equipping church pastors through biblical and leadership training, alongside his duties as the Leader Strategies National Director. Notable achievements include successfully equipping over 700 pastors with necessary leadership skills and spearheading church planting initiatives that have established over 1,500 multiplying churches across various regions. What Alemneh enjoys most about his work is empowering countless individuals to fulfill their calling and expand their ministry impact.
A memorable project Alemneh has worked on is the church planting initiative driven by the vision of “a church for every one thousand,” as well as training pastors under the motto of “redeeming the pulpit with Christ-Centered Preaching.” His motivation to excel in his role stems from a deep heart for mission that developed while serving with the Evangelical Christian Students’ Fellowship, alongside a profound calling from God to full-time ministry. His primary objective within the ministry is to leverage his experience to partner with churches and organizations committed to advancing the Kingdom and to nurture the next generation of church leaders in Ethiopia.
Beyond his primary roles, Alemneh has made significant contributions since joining the staff in 2010, having previously served as Highschool Ministry Director, Local Office Director, Global Churches Movement National Director, LDHR (Leadership Development and Human Resources) National Team Leader, and Mission School Undergraduate Program Coordinator. He also plays a significant part outside his immediate duties by serving as Vice Board Chairman for Great SACO and as a member of the elders in his local church.
