Eyosiyas Ketema is a product designer. He pursued his higher education at Bahirdar University in the northern part of Ethiopia, where he studied software engineering. He first heard about digital strategy as a university student, while serving on a digital strategy team on campus.

After graduating in 2021, he was invited to participate in a hackathon hosted by the Great Commission's digital strategy team. Following the hackathon, he decided to serve God with this great team. Eyosiyas has a keen interest in the design industry, particularly in product design, user experience design, design thinking, and solution-making. With his skills and passion, he aims to make a significant impact in the industry and create innovative solutions that can benefit people worldwide. Moreover, he is committed to using his knowledge and skills to contribute to God's kingdom and help fulfill the Great Commission.

Skills and Academic Background

I have an academic background in software engineering, which gives me an edge in collaborating closely with developers and understanding technical constraints early in the design process. As a Lead UX/UI Designer at Great Commission Ministry Ethiopia, I've led the full design lifecycle research, information architecture, design systems, prototyping, and developer handoff, across multiple products used by ministry teams and church leadership. This includes Yotor, a church management platform now used by 260 churches across 20 denominations with 763 active users, Turumba, a multi-tenant team messaging platform built for ministry mentorship, and Abirr, a finance processing system that cut manual errors by 50%. I'm advanced in Figma, working with auto-layout, components, variants, and developer-ready specs, and I bring strong expertise in UX research, product strategy, and design systems thinking. I'm also AI-native, using AI tools daily as part of my workflow and running a community where designers explore AI-driven approaches to design. My academic background and skills combine to drive my passion for creating user-centric and aesthetically pleasing experiences in product design.
